Experience:

1.      Minimum of 3 or more years hands-on coding experience with claims processing and/or experience in a medical office billing department. 

2.      Requires strong skills in the following areas: Interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written; problem identification and analysis; organization and ability to re-prioritize work assignments, coordination and delegation of assignments; recommending hiring/termination and evaluating staff performance as appropriate.

3.      Requires a high level of coding accuracy and attention to detail.

4.      Comprehensive knowledge of the coding guidelines, regulatory requirements with emphasis on CMS & OIG and payer-specific guidelines.

5.      Past auditing experience and/or strong training background in coding and reimbursement.

6.      Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and practice management software is mandatory.

7.       Must be willing to travel to BSMG office locations on a routine basis.

Licensure, Registration, or Certification:

Must be a Certified Professional Coder (or equivalent).  Specialty coding certifications strongly recommended.

400 bed facility for profit.  14 room OR and over Day Surgery, PACU, Endoscopy.  Sign on and Relo available.      Administers, directs and coordinates activities of Patient Care within assigned departments, and is responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of policies and procedures in these areas. Qualifications
 Education:  College graduate with Master’s or other postgraduate training desirable
Experience:  Medical risk management, insurance and/or legal experience.
Licensure:  Certificate in Healthcare Risk Management strongly preferred
