Summary:
Directs administration of Clinic within authority of governing board by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Competent in requirements per state and federal regulation for position.
- Implement and ensure adherence to policies and procedures as well as federal and state requirements
- Evaluate patient levels to determine appropriate staffing requirements for clinic; directs hiring, training, supervision and development of personnel
- Evaluate patient levels and determine ability to accept new patients based criteria; handle new patient admission intake and continuing case management
- Report timely all required records, reports and data concerning staff, patients, and operational affairs of facility to corporate, appropriate agency, or governing body
- Maintain clinic compliance with federal, state, and local laws/regulations by receiving continuing certification from all statutory and regulatory agencies; communicate to corporate and executive management information and correspondence from regulatory agencies
- Reviews and evaluates case management of patients and ensures that care is effective and professional and oversees patient assessments.
- Ensures skilled care is provided in accordance with established patient plans. Work to enhance patient comfort and emotional well being.
- Assume ultimate responsibility of patient medical records. Unit Administrator is designated Information Security Supervisor
- Participate in meetings involving Governing Body, Vice President and staff; conduct staff meetings, in-service education meetings, and team patient care planning meetings as needed and required.
- Continual compliance of Quality Assurance Program; maintain safe and sanitary environment; maintain and upkeep all equipment; maintain inventory and supplies necessary
- Conduct monthly review of Committee reports including but not limited to, Quality Assurance and Safety Committees and Patient Care Meetings
- Serve on clinics Governing Body; local liaison to End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network
- Establish and maintain positive relationship with local hospitals, agencies, and community by participating in outreach and marketing activities, which may include off-site meetings and promotional events.
- Administers fiscal operations such as budget planning and accounting for clinic
Education/Experience:
Graduate of an accredited nursing degree program; prefer bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in related field with equivalent experience
Minimum three years Nephrology experience
Certificates and Licenses:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in state of practice; strongly preferred CNN or CDN, or current License Practical Nurse (LPN) in state of practice.
Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
