To lead the marketing organization for an Internet-product based health and wellness company. This position is accountable for developing and executing a marketing plan that maximizes the profitability of products and services to ensure success of the company.
Functions:
Provide ownership of the brand and product program beginning with formulation, communication, and execution of product strategy, including pricing, packaging, positioning, and distribution.
Manages and coordinates all marketing activities for Health & Wellness. This may include public relations, advertising, market research, business development, data base marketing, and product development.
Defines innovative products and services that have a competitive advantage.
Create interest and awareness through go to market strategies that can lead to explosive revenue growth.
Implement product, pricing, promotion, and distribution to new internet based suite of tools and services and develop a high performance team that can deliver the results.
Advises leadership on market research and reports potential product development opportunities.
Develop and meet business objectives and deadlines.
Provide leadership and direction to business development, product development, regional partners, and support functions.
Develop a product strategy and roadmap.
Develop product promotion and pricing strategy.
Collect and analyze market and brand data, implementing brand-building programs, and educating various parties on brand-related issues.
Develop competitive intelligence.
Implement a market strategy for Health & Wellness.
Identify customers and works with sales team to generate new business.
Leads and develops a team of marketing professionals.
Serves as a key leadership role on the executive team for the company.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field plus seven years experience in marketing, marketing communications, sales, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Three years of leadership experience.
* Technical interest in social networking and media required.
* Experience in Health & Wellness preferred.
* Experience with internet based products and marketing.
* Experience developing brand and products.
* Ability to apply marketing concepts, product development and brand strategy (e.g., brand positioning, brand architecture, brand development, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, market research, market objectives/strategies, consumer segmentation) used in the development of marketing plans.
* Knowledge of product positioning strategies and creating and supporting innovative market introduction, awareness and adoption strategies and tactics.
* Knowledge of the following areas: consumer understanding from a global perspective, brand annual/season plan, project management, brand strategy development, brand equity development and management, leadership of brand innovation, human resource management, business strategy formulation, information management, and product and package development.
* Ability to apply basic marketing operating strategies (e.g., media planning, pricing strategies, trade/consumer promotions) used in the execution of marketing plans.
* Knowledge of procedures used to drive increases in volume and brand equity (e.g., marketing programs, events, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of, and proficiency in, various analytical tools, concepts and principles including their applicability in various situations.
* Awareness of emerging marketing and general business issues.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced market-driven environment.
