JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs diagnostic and procedural coding for Emergency Department medical records.  College level courses or equivalent in anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology required.  CCS, RHIA or RHIT preferred.  Provide evidence of successfully completed coding course in ICD9CM, CPT4, HCPCS, E&M and applicable grouper coding schemes.  One year of related ED or facility level E&M coding experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Responsible for clinical account management of an assigned group of large (80% 5K+, 20% 1-5K segment) and complex clients.

Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelors degree in nursing or other health-related discipline and 10+ years progressively responsible, directly relevant industry experience or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

- Advanced education desired.

- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills required, including relationship management, persuasion and negotiation.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation/sales skills.

- In-depth subject matter expertise on broad spectrum of medical/care management functions.

- Strong operational knowledge.

- Understands the issues relevant to the client, the broad organization, MBU, and functional area.
