Quality Coordinator – reports to Chief Quality Officer
Duties:
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for the facility’s Quality (Joint Commission) and
Core Measure activities.
Activities include:
• Data abstraction,
• Data collection and analysis of externally reported quality initiatives
• Performance improvement data collection and analysis
• Education
Program administration and quality education for the facilities’ leadership, clinical
personnel, governing board, and medical staff.
Experience:
• Required: Minimum of three years in an acute care facility and demonstrates a
clear working knowledge of general hospital operations, the Joint Commission,
OSHA, CMS, and state requirements
• Required: Minimum of two years experience in Quality Management
License/Education/Certification:
• Required: Current RN license

• Primary c section rate for past 2 years 13%.  Total c section rate 23% (some of the lowest rates in the southwest part of the country)
• RN Staff experience:  L&D average RN experience 8 years; SCN 20 years; PP 12 years.
• 50 direct reports (comprising RN’s, OB techs, C.N.A.’s , 1 manager)

• Chest pain accredited
• 26,000 visits annually
• Participation in the Lifenet system to provide rapid door to balloon times for STEMIs.
• DocFirst program implemented to dedicate a 30 min door to physician exam.  Assessment, evaluation, stabilization and management of all emergent, urgent and non-urgent (life threatening and non-life threatening) conditions in patients of all ages.
• Receive all ambulance and walk-in emergencies exclusive of major trauma and burns.
• Serve as an advance life support base station for County.
• Dedicated Triage Nurse.
• Many staff fluent in English and Spanish (additional interpretation services if necessary).
• ED Staff members are actively involved in community volunteer events such as Basketball, Senior Olympics, Relay for Life, Raft the Rio and Salsafest.
