Job Summary: Under administrative direction, plans, directs, develops policies, and creates quality improvement functions; administratively responsible for multiple clinical areas and operations.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include any and/or all of the following:
1. Assists with developing priorities, goals, and action plans; develops and maintains scheduling procedures for staffing of nursing care.
2. Assists in formulating philosophy and objectives; establishes standards of nursing care and nursing practice.
3. Selects, orients, supervises and evaluates supervisors and clinical nurses; establishes standards of performance and maintains an evaluation system for clinical personnel; assists with identifying educational needs for staff and establishes in-service/development programs; collaborates with professional and technical schools to enhance clinical education programs.

6. Ensures departmental activities and records adhere to regulatory requirements; evaluates the nursing care given and makes recommendations to develop action plans for improvements; assists with development and implementation of service standards and patient satisfaction.
7. Oversees compliance of staff to infection control practices and mandatory education requirements; performs other duties as assigned

In accordance with physicians orders, the Physical Therapist assesses, evaluates, plans, and carries out physical therapy programs to restore maximum reasonable function and to minimize disability following disease, injury, or genetically acquired disabilities. Operating Room
Christian Hospital’s OR consists of 16 operating rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Approximately 12,000 inpatient and outpatient procedures are performed each year. Of these, 500 are cardiothoracic procedures. Other surgeries include eye, neurosurgery, orthopedic, GU, vascular, general, podiatry, ENT, GYN, colorectal and thoracic.

Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology preferred. Knowledge of specialized principles and techniques in Blood Banking which would normally be obtained through formal academic training and experience. Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technologies such as American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and/or National Certifying Agency (NCA) preferred.

Description
In accordance with physicians orders, the COTA assesses, evaluates, plans, and carries out occupational therapy programs to restore maximum reasonable function and to minimize disability following disease, injury, or genetically acquired disabilities. Position tasks and responsibilities include:
Plans, organizes and conducts programs in a variety of sensorimotor, educational, recreational and social activities designed to help patients regain physical and or mental functioning or adjust to their handicaps.
Plans therapeutic care based on clinical assessment.
Teaches patient skills and techniques required for participation in activities.
Evaluates, records and reports on patient’s response to treatment and progress toward identified goals.
Integrates occupational therapy treatments with other aspects of patient care.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Instructs and educates patients and families.
Participates in patient discharge planning.
Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
Orients and mentors new staff members.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Key Accountabilities / Competencies for Histology Technician/Technologist:
1. Follows assigned work detail by efficiently prioritizing work load.
2. Performs special stains, including controls, logs in results of controls.
3. Must have the experience (minimun one year on the job) to troubleshoot/resolve processor problems.
Documents corrective action when necessary.
4. Must have quality skills in cutting, staining and embedding of tissue samples.
5. Is accurate in daily billing counts and recording Quality Control.
6. Performs accurate labeling and filing of slides and blocks.
7. Keeps Gross Room and Histology stocked, cleaned and free of safety hazards.
9. Communicates with lab personnel and medical professionals in resolving problems, promoting harmonious
relationships between hospital departments and coordinating services rendered by the laboratory.
10. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurence reporting system and uses the system to report potential safety
issues.
11. Is willing and able to be available (on-call) during the weekend (Friday night through Monday morning) to
come into the hospital to fix or repair any insturment malfunction in the Histology department. Must have
at least one full year experience on the job before being eligible for on-call.
