VP of Perioperative Services
Master’s required Doctorate and CNOR highly preferred

Reporting to the Medical Director of Perioperative Services (MDPOS), the Administrative Director, Perioperative Services works with the Chief Operating Officer of the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Surgeon-in-Chief, Anesthesiologist-in-Chief, Medical Director of Perioperative Services (MDPOS) and Perioperative Nursing Director to manage and oversee the function of Perioperative Services. This includes setting and meeting goals, managing the surgical schedule, staffing, capital planning (facilities and technology), information systems management, and statistical/financial reporting. Coordinates appropriate quality management programs throughout Perioperative Services in order to meet JCAHO, CMS, HIPAA and other regulatory requirements and to ensure the provision of the highest quality patient care. This position serves as the designee of the MDPOS in his/her absence. Incumbent may function in the role of the MDPOS in the event the MDPOS is unable to fulfill his/her responsibilities.
Education: Requires a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of data management and data modeling. Knowledge of financial and statistical principles. Competency in market analysis and business plan development. Familiarity with federal, state and local regulations impacting healthcare and the field of transplantation.
Skills: Requires analytical ability necessary to resolve extremely complex short and long term problems requiring the application of both clinical and management principles. The ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships; proficiency in team building, conflict resolution, and group interaction. Proven ability to manage large diverse groups of individuals. Proven leadership and communication skills. The ability to coordinate complex multi-disciplinary processes in order to facilitate satisfaction of internal and external goals. Excellent organizational skills and planning; including business planning and budget and resource planning. Expertise in the integration and analysis of clinical and financial information.
Required Licensure Certification, etc.: If a clinician, requires a current Maryland license as a R.N.
Work Experience: Requires a minimum of 10 years’ experience in process improvement, medical informatics, business and medicine or health care administration. Demonstrated expertise in running an efficient, high quality, complex surgical enterprise preferred.
