Key Responsibilities Under the direction of the Chief Internal Audit & Compliance Officer, the selected candidate will help develop, implement, and maintain the EMHS Compliance Program to assure compliance with EMHS policies and procedures and all applicable federal and state health care laws and regulations, with a particular emphasis on HIPAA issues. The selected candidate will help prevent, detect, and resolve instances of conduct that do not conform to EMHS policies or federal and state laws and regulations. The selected candidate will provide service, assistance, and guidance to all departments within EMHS and all affiliates on compliance and HIPAA related issues; help identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; and develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
 
Job Requirements Bachelor Degree required. A graduate degree in Law, Business, Health Administration or suitable related discipline is highly preferred. CHC/CHP preferred. Minimum 5 years experience with health care related regulatory and compliance issues. Familiarity with health care laws, regulations, and standards, including HIPAA. Understanding of coding and reimbursement systems and clinical experience preferred. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Strong analytical skills. High degree of credibility, independence, integrity and confidentiality.
