GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for providing clinical expertise in his/her specialty area to optimize patient/family, nurse, and systems outcomes and:

Conducts formal and /or informal research in areas identified by performance improvement, clinical issues and unit/hospital identified needs. Internal Insurance Auditor:
Performs defense audits of patient records that have been audited by third parties within the timeframes allowed by the payer. Prepares audit results and submission of adjustment/repayment requests. Performs audits of patient records whose claims have been denied. Determines if the claim is appealable and prepares and submits appeals. Follows up with payers. Determines if denied appeals should be forwarded to UR for additional level of appeals. Reviews patient records requested by RAC, MPI, and other government entities, preferably before records have been submitted. Follows up with compliance regarding recoupment and claims rebilling.  Must have Bachelor’s degree and licensed as a professional nurse or CCS, CPC or RHIT.  Successful candidate will have a minimum 3-years comprehensive healthcare auditing experience or equivalent. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, ICD-9 and CPT coding, Interqual and Medical Necessity and quality improvement will have Hospital Case Management, Health Insurance Adjudication or Underwriting, Knowledge of risk management and corporate compliance.

I am accepting perm candidates for a fulltime, day shift Clinical Pharmacist position in our fast paced Pharmacy.  The position requires completion of a Residency PGY1 or PGY2 with previous hospital experience, 3 years experience in critical care and a current Florida license (PharmD).  Coumadin Clinic experience is preferred. 

This position is Monday-Friday (7am is start time) with every 3rd weekend.  Candidates must have a positive attitude, self motivated, and great with students and problem solving. Have to be a team player because they are working in a small area with other pharmacists/pharmacy team members.  And must have excellent Customer Service skills as they are also on the floors with patients, staff and physicians. This position is a combination of regular clinical pharmacy duties on the floors and liaison and preceptor for the residency program and students here on rotations. 

Position summary:  Fills orders for parenteral and enteral medications, monitors patient drug therapies, and provides drug information. Supervises and directs support personnel. In the absence of the Pharmacy Director/Manager may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform duties of the Pharmacy Director/Manager.  Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff. * Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests, and handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules. * Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and communicate effectively (orally and in writing). * Ability to meet the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, psychiatric, oncology, obstetric, chemically dependent, rehabilitation, and skilled-nursing patients.

This position is a salaried, non exempt position.
