GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for providing clinical expertise in his/her specialty area to optimize patient/family, nurse, and systems outcomes and:

• Participates in patient care advocacy issues directed toward creating quality care.
• Knowledgeable about current research and evidence based practices in area of expertise and recommends changes in practice as appropriate. Conducts formal and /or informal research in areas identified by performance improvement, clinical issues and unit/hospital identified needs. I am accepting perm candidates for a fulltime, day shift Clinical Pharmacist position in our fast paced Pharmacy.  The position requires completion of a Residency PGY1 or PGY2 with previous hospital experience, 3 years experience in critical care and a current Florida license (PharmD).  Coumadin Clinic experience is preferred. 

This position is Monday-Friday (7am is start time) with every 3rd weekend.  Candidates must have a positive attitude, self motivated, and great with students and problem solving. Have to be a team player because they are working in a small area with other pharmacists/pharmacy team members.  And must have excellent Customer Service skills as they are also on the floors with patients, staff and physicians. This position is a combination of regular clinical pharmacy duties on the floors and liaison and preceptor for the residency program and students here on rotations. 

Position summary:  Fills orders for parenteral and enteral medications, monitors patient drug therapies, and provides drug information. Supervises and directs support personnel. In the absence of the Pharmacy Director/Manager may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform duties of the Pharmacy Director/Manager.  Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff. * Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests, and handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules. * Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and communicate effectively (orally and in writing). * Ability to meet the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, psychiatric, oncology, obstetric, chemically dependent, rehabilitation, and skilled-nursing patients.

This position is a salaried, non exempt position.
