Under the general direction of the nurse manager, the staff nurse provides direct patient care, collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians and other members of the health care team in the delivery of health care services to a specific patient population.  The staff nurse assesses patients needs, plans care, implements and evaluates the medical and nursing regimens in accordance with the hospital and nursing philosophy, policies/procedures, and standards.  He/she demonstrates leadership/management skills and a commitment to professional accountability and growth.  Position may require working at either campus or alternate sites.

 Qualifications
 Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current  registration.  BSN preferred.
Knowledge of current nursing, medical and health trends and practices in rendering of patient care.
Ability to act in a professional capacity and serve as a professional role model.

Provide quality testing and preparation of specimens within laboratory

Job Requirements

Must have at least Associate’s degree in science or MLT program
Must have at least 1 yr training as a MLTor lab professional
Must be ASCP eligible

Preferred Skills/Experience

Prefer MLT/ASCP certification
Prefer hospital laboratory experience

Clinical Coordinator/PCU 

Provides day to day management for staff and centralized pool including orientation process, compentencies and communications. Works collaboratively with other nursing departments to determine staffing needs. Must communicate effectively to assure professional conduct of staff. Establishes a mechanism to track customer service performance and takes corrective action to address issues. Skills include strong clinical background and critical thinking to effectively provide inpatient placement and develop systems for same. Requires 2 years relevant nursing experience and 2 years supervisory management experience. License to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Florida. Bachelors Degree preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to: Independantly evaluates and treats acute care inpatients and occasional outpatients of all populations/diagnoses, such as neuro, ortho, cardiac, general medical surgical, and occasional wound care. Provides extensive patient/family education. Provides multidisciplinary team care with other Rehab. professionals, nursing, physicians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc. Weekend rotation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree
FL O.T. license
Current BLS/CPR certification
1-2 years orthopedics, neuro; prefer wound care and splinting experience.
