Director of Medical Oncology/Florida
24-hour responsibility in the management of assigned Hospital Medical/Nuero/Oncology Department(s). She/He is under the direct supervision of the campus Chief Nursing Officer or Administrator. He/She is responsible for staffing and management of personnel assigned. Is responsible for overseeing utilization of all resources, for performance improvement and operations, and for providing a safe environment.
Responsible for overall management of the day-to-day operation of the Clinical Unit. Specific responsibilities include: Performance Improvement; policies and procedures; staffing/productivity; program development; and nursing care for specific patient populations. Works closely with staff, physicians, and other managers to ensure quality patient care. Guides the staff in the implementation of the nursing process and directs the cost effective allocation of resources.
Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
BSN degree required. MSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
3 to 5 years related experience. Acute care or specialty nursing experience as appropriate. Oncology nursing experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (list required and preferred separately)
RN license in the State of Florida. BLS

Required Job Qualifications include:
- Current RN license
- Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS.

- Current Knowledge of ECG monitoring
- I.A.B.P. experience preferred
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
- Clinically proficient in cath lab procedures demonstrating a knowledge of the developmental needs of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
