 I. Position Summary:

The Staff Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for the management and delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process May be required to float to other units. May be required to participate in on call status. This position requires age related competencies. Performs all other job duties as assigned.

II. Essential Functions:

The Staff Registered Nurse’s management of the delivery and documentation of patient care includes, but is not limited to:
* Assessment/re-assessments
* Development of the plan of care
* Implementation of appropriate patient care interventions
* Evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions
Supervises and coordinates the delegation and implementation of patient care of licensed and non-licensed personnel for their assigned shift/area, including delegated assignments, monitoring of patient care, facilitating problem solving, and education/training of staff and patients.

III. Accountability:

The Staff Registered Nurse reports to the department director and the Vice-President responsible for Patient Care Services. Performs job duties in a manner that will ensure a physical environment free of hazards to self and others. Accountable for the delivery of quality patient care.

Qualifications
Education:

Emergency Department/RN Openings

 The Emergency Department offers a variety of shifts and provides a teamwork atmosphere.  Nurses, techs, assistants, and physicians work collaboratively in providing high quality patient care.  Nurses are highly autonomous and self-motivated in assisting with patient plan of care and treatment.  The ED offers a broad scope of practice and patient population, including, trauma, pediatrics, cardiac, OB/GYN, and medical.  A 3-year emergency medicine residency program exists, providing a strong teaching atmosphere.  The ED is a great place to work if you wish to further expand knowledge base and skills, care for a mixture of patient populations, and work closely in an interdisciplinary team. 
Qualifications
At least 1 year of Emergency Department experience
2 years of critical care
Will consider at least 2 years of med/surg experience
ACLS and CPR, PALS required
