Description
The Director of Risk Management is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the facility Patient Safety Plan. The Director will also be the facility Patient Safety Officer. The Director will coordinate and facilitate clinical risk management activities to prevent and/or minimize losses associated with identifiable risks, and to minimize and prevent claims of general and professional liability against the hospital. Clinical risk management activities also include oversight of automobile claims, and property claims. The Director will provide leadership to maintain National Patient Safety Goal compliance for the facility.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors degree in nursing required
Certifications/Licenses:
Graduate degree in Nursing or healthcare related field preferred
Risk Management certification preferred
Current license as a registered professional nurse
Current certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred

JOB SUMMARY Operates computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table, using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position and following protocols specified by Radiologist.
Administers contrast media orally or assists Physician in intravenous administration.
Enters data such as type of scan requested, slice thickness, scan time, and other technical data into computer.
Starts CT scanner to scan designated anatomical area of patient.
Talks to patient over intercom system and observes patient through window of control room to monitor patient safety and comfort.
Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
Starts camera to produce radiographs.
Working knowledge fo PACS.
Utilizes appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related science field, from a regionally accredited college or university. Must have completed an accredited Medical Technology training program. Must have six years of advanced to complex level applicable clinical laboratory experience to include one year of experience in a lead capacity OR must have an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be certified as a Medical Technologist by a national certification agency.

Key Accountabilities / Competencies for Histology Technician/Technologist:
1. Follows assigned work detail by efficiently prioritizing work load.
2. Performs special stains, including controls, logs in results of controls.
3. Must have the experience (minimun one year on the job) to troubleshoot/resolve processor problems.
Documents corrective action when necessary.
4. Must have quality skills in cutting, staining and embedding of tissue samples.
5. Is accurate in daily billing counts and recording Quality Control.
6. Performs accurate labeling and filing of slides and blocks.
7. Keeps Gross Room and Histology stocked, cleaned and free of safety hazards.
9. Communicates with lab personnel and medical professionals in resolving problems, promoting harmonious
relationships between hospital departments and coordinating services rendered by the laboratory.
10. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurence reporting system and uses the system to report potential safety
issues.
11. Is willing and able to be available (on-call) during the weekend (Friday night through Monday morning) to
come into the hospital to fix or repair any insturment malfunction in the Histology department. Must have
at least one full year experience on the job before being eligible for on-call.

Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (PT Aide, PTA, etc.). The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Ensures that patient changes are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
