JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Arkansas. A diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.
Experience: Previous operating room experience preferred.
Physical: Mobility, sight, hearing, verbal communication, changes in temperature, exposure to disagreeable elements, exposure to biological, mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Frequent standing and walking. Lifting up to 100lbs. Carrying up to 40lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 400lbs.
JOB SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse directly responsible for the therapeutic care of patients. The Registered Nurse must possess a good working knowledge of the nursing process. The RN will serve as a role model for LPN’s, Scrub Tech’s and students by demonstrating clinical competency and leadership. The RN must be capable of service as charge nurse in the absence of the OR Manager. The RN must promote good public relations for the dept, the nursing division, and the medical center while maintaining patient confidentiality. Must be able to communicate effectively and project a positive, professional attitude toward patients, staff, visitors and students; perform the day-to-day nursing tasks appropriately; and conduct him/herself in a professional manner and dress appropriately.

Position Summary:
This professional staff person is responsible for performing assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating the care. The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice.
