Job Description:
The Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife (PA, NP, CMN) shall be committed to contributing to the mission of our Health Corporation, “to achieve the greatest possible improvement to the health status of the people of our Regional Hospital”. The PA, NP CNM, is an employee working under the supervision of the medical director who is in turn supervised by the clinical services administrator.

At least one (1) year of medical-surgical nursing experience in either an acute care or home health setting, within the past four (4) years is required.

A minimum of one year of home health experience preferred.
Ability to communicate oral and written English language to understand and be understood, passing score on pharmacology test.
Must possess a current valid Alaska RN license (Or able to obtain)
Must also maintain current provider level of all ages BLS certification.
Behavior and answers to role related questions demonstrate experience and preparation for the role.

 This position is responsible for installing, repairing, calibrating, preventative maintenance, electrical safety and performance verification, bench and field service on most medical equipment at the board/module level with assistance or direct supervision.

Coordinates/schedules service (self, vendor and, when appropriate, other technicians) via management of customer expectations. Performs device investigations related to regulations and/or incident reporting under supervision if applicable.

Provides direct marketing and sales support to Technology Management internal and external customers.

Documents all work performed, maintains parts, supplies, tools, test equipment and technical literature by completing service reports and supplemental productivity documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Maintains an accurate and current parts inventory. Assists manager in maintaining a comprehensive library of technical literature.

Assists with equipment installations and project work involving patient care, medical communications technology, and clinical application networks.

Trains field technicians with less expertise in preventative maintenance and repair of medical equipment, and service delivery methods when appropriate.

Must possess a strong knowledge of electronics as normally obtained through the completion of an Associate’s degree in electronics and a minimum of two years of related experience within an acute-care hospital setting.

Must posses a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

Must possess a working knowledge of electricity, AC/DC electronics including power supplies, electro/mechanics including motors and motor controls, and hydraulics/pneumatics. Must be knowledgeable in medical terminology and basic physiology. Must also be proficient in PC repair and Windows PC and network operating systems.

The Clinical Nurse Manager demonstrates Clinical level II competencies as role model for nursing practice.  Management responsibilities are comprehensive in the areas of leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, communications, group process, service excellence, use of personal resources, control of patient and staff environment and budgeting.  Involvement is expected in educational endeavors for staff and self, as well as research applicable to patient care.  Management responsibilities actively involve staffing a variety of functions that develop professional accountability and improve performance.
The Clinical Nurse Manager accepts ownership of own work and is responsible to the Associate Executive Director, Nursing.
