Position Title:
Medical Technologist
Full time evening and night positions available
There is currently a need for MT’s (ASCP) to work in our state-of-the-art hospital laboratory. Enjoy free on-site parking, Employee Fitness Center and more!
Qualifications:
BS degree in Medical Technology or Biological Science. MT (ASCP), NCA certification or equivalent. 1-3 years generalist experience, including Blood Bank. Recent hospital experience highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Collect and prepare samples for analysis, evaluate validity of results
• Perform hematological, chemical, serological, clinical microscopy procedures
• Calibration set-ups, preventive maintenance, and general care of laboratory equipment
• Select, prepare and use appropriate control materials to monitor assays
• Keeps current on advances in laboratory sciences
• Promote effective teamwork and relationships with co-workers

Complete Description
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related field with certification from the ASCP or equivalent. Effective communication skills desired.
Med Tech or MLT, work as a generalist in the MCW Laboratory on second shift. Rotates weekends and holidays.

Histology Technician
Embeds and sections processed tissue sections to produce slides for diagnosis; Collects and processes other patient specimens.
Operates, calibrates, checks and maintains instrumentation. Recognizes problems with quality control and test procedures and takes appropriate action to ensure quality clinical information.
Performs routine and special staining procedures.
Participates in programs to keep updates with current and changing technologies.
Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory specimens.
Job Requirements
Associates Degree in ASCP eligible program or equivalent. Meet on going education requirements for certification.
Clinical histology experience required.
HT (ASCP) or eligible.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Qualifications
4 years experience in an Acute Care Facility Microbiology lab setting with 1-2 years in a senior or supervising capacity. Prior senior or supervisory experience to include: specialized and complex analysis, computer experience, quality control, collaboration, current Fl. Lab Supervisor license required. ASCP registration preferred.
