Acute care and intensive care, evaluation for discharge needs, possible splinting. Grad from Occupational Therapy school with a Fl lic (or eligible). Requires skills in inpatient adult - 1yr acute care preferred, esp in ortho & trauma.

Description:
The Clinical Nurse II independently cares for a group of patients consistently using
the nursing process and clinical standards. Delegates appropriate patient care
activities to other members of the health care team. Is responsible for professional
accountability and development.
Under minimal supervision provides and manages professional nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act, professional nursing standards, and established hospital and nursing policies and procedures. Exercises professional judgement in utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Demonstrates his/her ability to make clinical judgments utilizing the partnership/ team concept including the RN. Demonstrate the knowledge of the principle of growth and development over the life span and while providing care needed by the patient population; identify each patient’s age specific needs/ status through data collection and collaboration with the RN. Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs.
Prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
Carries out physician orders.
Assists physician during examination, treatment and procedures.
Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.
Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Instructs and educates patients and families.
The Director of Clinical Outcomes Management is responsible and accountable for the implementation of the outcomes management program at the local level. The components/roles of the inpatient outcomes management program consist of the following: care facilitation, utilization management, case management, and discharge planning. The Director is responsible for the developing systems and processes for care/utilization management and planning at the system level. In addition, the Director evaluates and ensures that hospital resources are used appropriately and effectively. The Director promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, fosters teamwork and champions service excellence.
Requirements are a Masters degree in health related Field, RN FL licensure, and Specialty certification strongly desired.
The Clinical Coordinator provides clinical expertise, knowledge and leadership for care team members in coordinating staffing, work assignments and unit bed flow. Serves as a mentor by role modeling professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness and standards of care. Assists the Unit Director to develop, implement and monitor compliance to the unit operating budget and performance. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. Bachelor’s Degree from an approved college or university or actively working towards a degree with 9 credit hours per year commitment. Minimum of three years acute care experience with two years of experience within clinical specialty area. National certification by area of specialty preferred or within two years of hire. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
