Directly accountable for the integration for the Cardiology Departments and all operational, administrative and marketing functions of Cardiology. Together with the COO/CNO, is responsible for setting objectives, strategic positioning, planning, establishing service standards, budgeting and overall financial performance. Responsible for the integration and management of all Cardiology Departments with regard to staffing and supervision, equipment, purchasing, billing and charge collection, quality improvement activities and staff development. Accountable for ensuring Cardiology operations are in compliance with all JCAHO and other regulatory requirements.

Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing required. Masters degree preferred.
     
Licensure/
Certifications: Current RN licensure, ACLS, BCLS.
      
Experience: Five years of healthcare management experience and prior Cath Lab experience required.  Shared governance experience.  Strong patient/physician satisfaction  and

  Description

Directs the activities of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory Services. Administers, plans, directs and evaluates the activities of the Cath Lab to ensure quality patient care. Develops goals, policies and procedures; prepares and submits the operating and capital expenditure budgets for the cardiac cath lab. Participates in CQI and performance improvement activities.

· Provides some direct patient care as needed.
· Evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

· Assesses, plans, implements and educates patient/family on appropriate pain management.
· Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
· Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses and assessment of changes.
· Demonstrates knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served. Able to interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group

New 200 Plus bed for profit hospital in search of Director of Cardiovascular Services. Must promote good public relations for the department and the hospital while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality. The Director of Cardiovascular Services applies and implements the philosophy, goals and objectives of Hospital.

PRIMARY DUTIES OF POSITION
1. Provides the necessary leadership to ensure the department and organization is in full compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and JCAHO standards.
2. Integrates the department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions as well as with other departments.

4. Provides sufficient number of qualified and competent staff recommended to provide services.
