FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific details in regards to scope, volume, pay, #FTEs and other internal information will be provided once a candidate is reviewed and qualified.
Plans, directs, and manages the activities of the Clinical Effectiveness Departments which include Performance Improvement, Infection Control Department, Risk Management and Education Departments.
Responsible for the preparation for and performance of surveys from external agencies such as JCAHO and AHCA.
Oversees establishment of policies, procedures, standards and departmental objectives. Acts as a liaison to the medical staff, administration, all hospital departments and committees to carry out all functions related to these areas.
Assures that the staff adheres to the Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to the rules and standards of JCAHO and other applicable Federal, State and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies.
Also oversees the Risk Management Program for loss prevention and claims control (according to federal, state, and local requirements) to meet the needs of all units of Hospitals integrated healthcare delivery system.
Additionally, facilitates planning, development and administration of the Patient Relations Program for prompt follow up and resolution of patient grievances, as well as collection of data to trend, analyze, and improve customer satisfaction. Also oversees the activities and personnel in the Education Department of Hospital to provide the in-service and continuing education needs of employees and the coordination of student group activities. Includes the coordination, preparation, and recordkeeping for all hospital education programs in compliance with accreditation requirements and state laws and regulations.
Qualifications

Master’s degree required in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
Advanced certification in Quality Improvement and/or Risk Management highly desired.
Minimum of five years healthcare administration/management experience, with a strong background as an Educator, as well as a minimum of three to five years acute care clinical experience and PI experience.
Previous informatics experience preferred but not required in clinical information systems development and/or implementation required.
Proven ability in areas of leadership/supervision, knowledge of legal aspects of healthcare, medical staff issues and PI principles required.
Previous experience in preparing and presenting professional presentations required. Requires proficiency in Windows-based software including word processing, graphics, spread sheet and database management.
Additional Information
Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• May require a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
