JOB DESCRIPTION: A complete list of demands for this position will be provided by Human Resources.
Certification as a RHIT, CCS or RHIA required.
In-depth knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT4/HCPCS, DRG, and APC coding. Bachelor’s degree in medical records or health related field preferred.
Ensures coding and abstracting of health records meet established standards of accuracy, timeliness and quality, and functions, services and activities of department are consistent with the goals and objectives the Medical Center.
Prior recent supervisory/management experience.
Familiarity with use of computerized medical records systems.
Familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing programs. Manages the daily operations of the Health Information Coder and Abstractor department.
Three year of experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding of inpatient and outpatient medical records.
Salary Range Hospital Willing to pay: DOE
