PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
RN - Electro Physiology Studies
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Must have completed and passed basic EKG course or do so within 6 months of hire
· BLS upon hire or within 90 days. CPR skills check bi annually.
· Able to set up and calculate various medications with different routes of administration.
· Able to perform all aspects of recording, scrubbing, and monitoring
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Prefer ACLS
· Prefer advanced levels of EKG Training.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Must be graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology, CVT (prefer RCIS or NASPExAM) Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory Technology, Registered Nurse
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Prefer 2 years of Cath Lab experience and 1 year of EP Lab experience.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Current license or registration by the State of Florida as RN, Radiology Tech, LPN, or Respiratory Tech
· All CVTs must have completed either RCIS or NASPExAM by Cardiovascular Credentialing International by December 31, 2007. New graduate CVT’s must obtain registration within 12 months of graduation.
PREFERRED LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRTION:
· RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) preferred for all CVT’s until December 31, 2007 (see above Licensure, Certification, or Registration required).
· The International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, (formerly NASPExAM), is the highest benchmark of professional competency in cardiac pacing, defibrillation and electrophysiology. Successful completion of this exam is the preferred level of competency for all clinical staff.
