Sr. Decision Support Analyst/Dallas/Texas
Senior analysts should be capable of analyzing system or operational change and then designing and implementing new processes, analysis, and/or procedure, as needed, with minimal supervision. Able to supervise, train, and teach lesser experienced analysts.
Bachelors Degree (Accounting or Finance - Preferred, MIS degree with 15 hours of accounting may be substituted)
Three to Seven years experience within healthcare, prior decision support experience required.
Prefer CPA or CHFP certification.
Strong PC literacy with full suite of Microsoft Office applications, including Access. Prefer experience with Crystal Reports and database maintenance.
Must have a thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles and concepts. Must be able to apply cost accounting concepts to products and patient encounters using medical coding terminology and Relative Value Unit (RVU) methods.
Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
-Processing weekly and monthly data for the decision support system.
-Maintaining the decision support system with required structure and transaction maintenance, including RVU standards.
-Reconciling the Patient Level database to the General Ledger system.
-Performing audit processes to insure consistency and accuracy of unit costs.
Financial/Operational Analysis Competency
Must have a complete knowledge of hospital financial accounting concepts to provide basis for operational analysis and annual operating budget preparation.
Responsibilities could include, but not be necessarily limited to:
-Preparation of the annual operating budget
-Use of a variety of software tools to build long range planning and forecasting of P&L and Balance Sheets.
-Able to perform routine or ad hoc analysis as needed for a product line or other area, as directed.
Must have extremely strong PC and database skills with high degree of proficiency with the Microsoft Office product suite, including the Access database application. Effective use of Crystal Reports is desired.
Responsibilities:
-Able to assist others with use of database technology to support financial/clinical analysis.
-Capable of performing system analyst tasks to understand how data interfaces with and affects the decision support system.
Must have strong, effective interpersonal skills with good communication abilities to allow effective interaction with all levels of personnel.
Responsibilities:
-Able to teach/explain accounting issues to non-finance staff.
-Capable of making professional presentations to staff, directors, and others as directed or required.
-Act as Finance representative to assigned areas.
