Senior analysts should be capable of analyzing system or operational change and then designing and implementing new processes, analysis, and/or procedure, as needed, with minimal supervision. Able to supervise, train, and teach lesser experienced analysts.

Bachelors Degree (Accounting or Finance - Preferred, MIS degree with 15 hours of accounting may be substituted)

Three to Seven years experience within healthcare, prior decision support experience required.

Prefer CPA or CHFP certification.

Strong PC literacy with full suite of Microsoft Office applications, including Access. Prefer experience with Crystal Reports and database maintenance.

Must have a thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles and concepts. Must be able to apply cost accounting concepts to products and patient encounters using medical coding terminology and Relative Value Unit (RVU) methods.

Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
-Processing weekly and monthly data for the decision support system.
-Maintaining the decision support system with required structure and transaction maintenance, including RVU standards.
-Reconciling the Patient Level database to the General Ledger system.
-Performing audit processes to insure consistency and accuracy of unit costs.
Financial/Operational Analysis Competency
Must have a complete knowledge of hospital financial accounting concepts to provide basis for operational analysis and annual operating budget preparation.

Responsibilities could include, but not be necessarily limited to:
-Preparation of the annual operating budget
-Use of a variety of software tools to build long range planning and forecasting of P&L and Balance Sheets.
-Able to perform routine or ad hoc analysis as needed for a product line or other area, as directed.
Must have extremely strong PC and database skills with high degree of proficiency with the Microsoft Office product suite, including the Access database application. Effective use of Crystal Reports is desired.

Responsibilities:
-Able to assist others with use of database technology to support financial/clinical analysis.
-Capable of performing system analyst tasks to understand how data interfaces with and affects the decision support system.
Must have strong, effective interpersonal skills with good communication abilities to allow effective interaction with all levels of personnel.

-Capable of making professional presentations to staff, directors, and others as directed or required.

Responsibilities:

1. Hires, trains and conducts performance evaluations, and supervises the workflow for designated staff. This includes initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. Provides leadership, coaching, recognition, and staff development. Establishes priorities, workloads, schedules, controls, work procedures and day-to-day problem resolution and trouble shooting utilizing Six Sigma and Lean concepts, tools and methodology in the department

2. Schedules and manages the use of labor and resources within budgetary guidelines. Manages waste reduction and establishes priorities, workloads, controls and work procedures, as well as determines resources needed for expense reduction. Prepares and/or provides input for the department budget.

3. Under the direction of management, ensures area(s) of responsibility are maintained in accreditation with College of American Pathologists (CAP), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and licensing for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) for patient care and nursing. Also ensures laboratory is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

4. Participates and may lead task forces to plan, implement, and coordinate activities to maximize service quality, compliance effectiveness and efficiency. Develops and monitors performance matrix to ensure quality patient care.

5. Serves as a resource and communication liaison by facilitating timely and accurate dissemination of information to employee, Banner Health and LSA/SQL.

Qualifications:
Must possess a strong knowledge of healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of bachelor’s degree.

Certification as a medical technologist or in their specialty, under ASCP, NCA or equivalent as defined under CLIA ‘88 regulations.

Must have at least four years of experience in their field with at least two years in their technical specialty.

Previous management experience or participation in management training programs is required. A significant understanding and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures of different software programs is required. Oral/written communication skills, analytical/strategic skills.

Must possess the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Must posses a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Organizes and coordinates daily activities of Pharmacy Services. Oversees the scheduling of pharmacy staff to assure adequate and consistent service. Coordinates activities of the department in implementing decisions of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and other hospital committees in relation to formulary management and process improvements. Participates in meetings, in-service programs, committees and other functions as appropriate.

5. Reviews and assures compliance with departmental and organizational policies and procedures, Federal and State laws, and accrediting bodies standards.

6. Participates in the duties of the Clinical Staff Pharmacists when workload/staffing dictates.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires (or eligible for) pharmacy licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

Pharmacy licensure

Must possess good organizational, problem solving and computer skills. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts. Must be able to use reference tools to evaluate patient care and answer questions posed by customers.

Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and Automated dispensing system.

Prefer hospital pharmacy experience.
