 Responsibilities:
-General knowledge of information technology and healthcare is required.
-The Systems Analyst provides expertise in selected business or healthcare processes and participates in formulating system scope and objectives relative to the company’s requirements.
-Works as part of a team who provides knowledge, guidance, research and fact finding expertise to define, design and modify specifications and processes of information systems.
-Incumbent participates in establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications. T

RN-Level II PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)/AZ

 This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.

2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.

3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.

4. Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient’s response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.

5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient’s response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.

6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.

7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY
Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.

Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.

6.Administers and maintains all types of anesthesia.

7.Performs all techniques applicable to the delivery, maintenance and monitoring of anesthesia, to include direct laryngoscopy, endotracheal intubations an radial artery cannulization.

8.During anesthesia, monitors, charts and interprets vital signs and other appropriate indicators, treating changes appropriately to maintain homeostasis and desired anesthetic level: provides resuscitative care, including; fluid therapy, airway management and ventilation, ensures patient safety through proper operative positioning.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES CONTINUED:
9.At the appropriate time, terminates anesthesia, administers reversal agents as necessary, prepares for and
transports patient to the PACU: transfers care of the patient to one who has been properly trained in post anesthesia care, giving report and remaining until the patients vital signs have been taken and recorded.

10. Participates as a member of the Cardiac Arrest Team and assists in resuscitative efforts when available.

11. Maintains a high level of mandatory continuing education for re-certification and to remain current in all aspects of
anesthesia theory and technique, incorporates into practice generally accepted new techniques and knowledge.

3.         Provides the technical skills necessary to assist the physician in performing Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization procedures.
4.         Provides a safe environment for the patient during their Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization procedures
5.         May function as a Scrub Assistant, ensuring maximum compliance to principles of aseptic/sterile technique by self and members of the team. Ensures adequate floor and room stock are available for imaging procedures.
6.         Assists in the recording, storing, retrieval and analyzing data obtained during the interventional cardiovascular procedures.
7.         Assists in monitoring patient.  Including but not limited to: Hemodynamic data/ECG/Angiographic data.  Recognition of changes of the above, documenting as necessary and reporting to physician and other team members in a time sensitive fashion.
8.         Assists with preparation of radiologic and other laboratory equipment to be used during the procedure while adhering to the principles of aseptic/sterile technique. Maintains and evaluates equipment, and troubleshoots equipment as needed.
9.         Provides a safe environment for the patient during their stay in the Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.  Performs circulator duties during invasive procedures in the Lab, including gathering and organizing equipment, instruments and supplies necessary for the performance of Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology procedures, and providing emergency ACLS interventions appropriate to their scope of practice.
10.      Assist RN/MD with monitoring for moderate sedation during Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology procedures.
11.      Can apply ACLS protocols and emergency drug knowledge during critical situations to ensure patient safety within RT scope of practice.
12.       May assist RN/MD with pre-, intra-, and post procedure assessments on all patients to meet nursing needs and to assist and consult with the physician and other professional staff.
13.      Provides patient education.
14.      Assumes on call duty as assigned. Responds within 30 minutes to the hospital for emergency procedures.
15.      Participates in promoting a healthful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patient and families; sets up and controls the environment essential for infection control.
16.      Participates in the implementation of patient care standards, infection control standards and quality assurance criteria; assist with conducting studies; participates in unit and other meetings.
17.      Contacts physicians and/or other departments to obtain or provide patient information
18.      Accompanies, assists, and represents the needs of patients to other providers
