Clinical Application Analyst - Behavioral Health
Position Summary:
Works with facility users, vendors, and corporate staff to address clinical information requirements and solve related problems through the implementation and support of IS technologies and clinically oriented business practices. This is accomplished through on-site or online training and implementations, convening user advisory meetings and task forces, supporting and implementing software enhancements and modifications, and troubleshooting and resolving ongoing issues within the clinical system and environment.
Essential Job Duties
Provides direct training to users in the clinical and marketing applications, as well as support to trainers in the field.
Provides on-site support for the implementation of the given applications, including project task lists and implementation plans.
Coordinates user groups and project teams, convenes conference calls and meetings, and maintains minutes and follow-up logs.
Provides support and monitors assigned facilities, responds to user based questions and training requests, and follows-up based on variations in usage.
Assists in the design and building of software data-entry screens and forms.
Creates management tools within the applications through reports, graphs, pivot charts and other mechanisms to assist in decision making.
Creates and updates user documents to outline procedures and standards within applications.
Supports the creation and development of new interfaces with external systems, including ongoing review of data integrity within existing corporate financial system interfaces.
Troubleshoots system and application problems, including hardware and software issues as needed.
Provides ongoing communication with users, managers, corporate directors and vendors to assure support and continual understanding of current initiatives and progress within the clinical and marketing applications.
Maintains software dictionary tables and definitions for applications.
Provides on-call assistance as requested, for after-hours issues and support needs.
Performs other duties as assigned/required.
Job Requirements:
Computer science, business or clinically-oriented associate’s degree.
3 - 5 years experience working in an Information Technology environment, with hands-on computer experience.
Direct hands-on clinical experience within a behavioral health facility, preferred.
Prior training experience, with proven ability to effectively teach trainees at varying skill levels.
Experience with training software applications, preferred.
Has a strong working knowledge of the health care industry and environment.
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and email software applications.
A quick learner of software and information technology, and motivated to learn new applications.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills, among facility customers and team members.
Demonstrates customer-oriented service excellence principals, as outlined in UHS corporate standards.
Self-disciplined, able to work independently, but also able to take direction when necessary.
Self motivated to identify and resolve issues, and in advancing personal knowledge.
Very organized and detail-oriented.
Flexible with time and travel requirements, with up to 50% travel required.
