Program Director for School of Radiologic Technology is responsible for the direction, coordination and daily operation of the Radiology School. Responsibilities include curriculum development, didactic/clinical instruction, student supervision, student evaluation, academic counseling and coordination of various clinical sites. The Program Director assesses and insures the effectiveness of teh overall program in Radiologic Technology and maintains all standards for accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRC/ERT).
Ideal candidate will have major part of technical experience in diagnostic technology. The major focus of the program is diagnostic radiography which is the basis for all students then who want to branch out to the other areas under imaging. This position is for an educator familiar with adult learning concepts and must have an affinity for working with students. Must have a clear understanding and be up-to-date on JRC/ERT standards. Must be a forward thinking candidate who will look at ways to promote the program for further clinical sites, expansion beyond diagnostic radiography and meeting new JRC/ERT standards.
We have been a leader in education and training of professional radiographers for years. As an institution under the umbrella of the medical center, our students have the opportunities afforded by a hands-on hospital experience with a large radiology department, trauma center, neonatal ICU, Cancer Center, Gamma Knife, neuro-ortho floor, Liver Institute, Transplant Institute and rehabilitation unit.
Ideal candidate would have experience as a program director or instructor of a radiology school either associated with a hospital or college/university. Ideal candidate will not be from a company whose primary focus is sales of radiology equipment or computer programs, i.e. Cerner, IBM, PACS, etc
