Dialysis Registered Nurse

 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

- Prepares the dialyzer and delivery system as prescribed; monitor all equipment in use for correct functioning; and perform appropriate terminal cleaning following each treatment

- Assess assigned patients before and after each treatment.  Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatment

- Develop the plan of nursing care for each treatment and as required, alter the dialysis management based on standing and current physician orders

- Evaluate patients’ status and notify the Charge Nurse and Physician regarding changes in patient’s condition

- Document all patient care provided and contribute to patient care planning and follow-up to achieve goals

- Conform to the established policies and procedures of the facility and RCP; provide education to patient and family regarding renal care, fluid management, treatment options, vascular access care, and diet restrictions

- Perform patient care or other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse or Clinic Administrator.

Education/Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively to other employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Computer Skills:
Basic Microsoft Office experience
Certificates and Licenses:
Current licensure as a Licensed Register Nurse (RN) Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in state of practice
Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification

Must be competent in the requirements for the position per state and federal regulation.
