Unit Supervisor Heart and Vascular Center

The position is responsible for the shift-to-shift activities.  The Clinical Coordinator provides leadership and direction in accordance with the organizational and departmental philosophy and goals.  The position will assist the Manager and Director in maintaining the highest level of expertise in the clinical and operational performance of the unit.  Requires basic understanding and ability to utilize the nursing process.  Coordinate the care of the patient through the nursing team model.  Participate in direct patient care.  Assist in the evaluation of clinical competency and identify opportunities for continuous performance improvement; contribute and actively support the pillar goals of the unit and organization; Incorporate standards of care and professionalism into daily practice; Assist in scheduling and assignment of staff to meet daily staffing plan; Communicate the needs of patients, families, visitors, employees and physicians in a professional and timely manner; recognize and escalate the signs and symptoms of heart attack, stroke and pulmonary distress; Integrate behavior standards and AIDET fundamentals of service into all work activities.

Graduated from an accredited professional nursing program.  Current licensure with the Board of Nursing Examiners of the State of Texas.  Current healthcare provider CPR and ACLS certifications.

Two years experience at the level of a staff nurse with skills applicable to HVC/CVICU.  Experience in leadership position desirable.
