Pharmacist

The staff pharmacist is responsible for providing drug therapy as well as patient and staff education for the purpose of achieving definate outcomes that improve a patient’s quality of life.  Completes physician medication orders, monitors patient medication therapy through the patient profile, and provides medication informmation.  Cooperates with professional staff in designing, implementing and monitoring a therapy plan to produce specific therapeutic outcomes for the patient.  May have responsibility for the assessment, treatment and/or care of patients of all ages including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.  Supervises supportive personnel and may be required to assume managerial responsibilities in the absense of the director.

Current licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of Texas.  License must be in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  Hospital experience strongly prefered.
