Cancer Services Navigator

Shift: Day (5 - 8 hour shifts/week)

RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates the cancer care experience across the continuum providing education/provision of information and support for clients and patients; facilitates decision making; advocates and improves throughput and patient satisfaction. 

Supports the individual/significant others throughout the entire cancer experience, from point of entry (which is variable) through follow-up and continued care.  Provides overall coordination of clinical services for the individual as well as the physician, outreach activities to community services, and development of work processes (data base establishment, data collection, outcomes reporting, awareness building, marketing, process improvement, throughput and evaluation) and continuous quality improvement to achieve the ultimate goals of improved patient experience, and improved physician satisfaction with cancer care services.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

*Bachelors prepared Registered Nurse (Masters Degree preferred)
*Five years staff level experience in oncology.
*Evidence of progressive responsibility in an autonomous role.
*Program development and deployment experience a plus.
*Utilizes a customer focused approach.
*Ability to utilize collaboration, coaching, mentoring, listening, participative decision-making, negotiating and team building skills.
*Effective verbal and written communication, including tact and a positive demeanor.
*Ability to establish and maintain rapport with physicians and organizational personnel.
*Outcome driven decision making.
*Ability to plan, develop, implement and administer health related programs.
*Ability to work autonomously, establishing benchmarks for success
