RN OR First Assistant

The Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) provides direct and indirect perioperative nursing tasks for patients requiring surgical intervention.  This person must be self-motivated, possess good communication skills and have the ability to prioritize in emergent situations.
 
This position requires a minimum of two years of cardiac first assisting experience including endovein and open vein harvest.
Strong multi-specialty first assisting experience including Neurological, Orthopedic, Vascular, Trauma, Gynecological and laparoscopic procedures required.

First Assist Certification required.

CardioVascular Thoracic OR RN

CVOR RN Responsibilities
The Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery Registered Nurse is responsible for the management and delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care of patients undergoing a surgical procedure.  The OR nurse directs and guides the delivery of patient care, patient education, and all care related activities, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. He/She is familiar with all instruments, supplies, and equipment used during specific surgical procedures.  On-call coverage is required.

Education and Knowledge
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Cardiac/Thoracic/Vascular OR experience required; five (5)  years experience preferred.
- Completion of CVPH Level 1 Cardiac Dysrhythmia Recognition Class within in six months of hire.
- BLS Required.
- Must be able to take call as scheduled.

Cardiovascular Surgery: Cardiovascular Services has a matrixed reporting relationship with Perioperative Services for the staff RN’s and anesthesia techs.  Operationally, the Cardiovascular Operating Room is under Perioperative Services, but the Cardiovascular Services Line Director is responsible for CVOR program aspects, i.e. Medical Directorships, mid-level providers, budgeting and strategic planning.  Presently, cardiovascular surgery is performed in an (approximately) 600 square foot state-of-the-art surgical suite with an adjacent perfusion/physician workstation/supply area.  The OR has a fully integrated system enabling the physicians to view cath lab info, archived trans esophageal echos, etc.  In 2009, two new cardiovascular suites will be completed as part of the Master Facilities Plan surgical expansion program.  CVPH has a dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgery team that includes surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologist, anesthesia techs, perfusion service, RN’s and cardiovascular midlevel providers.  Albany Cardiothoracic Surgeons, P.C., provides a community-based cardiac surgeon as well as back-up and on-call service.

 Responsibilities
-As the process owner for Product Complaint Handling for the Customer Solutions Group (CSG), the United States Regional unit, the manager supports the IKM, CT, MR, AX and SP Business Unit’s DCUs (Designated Complaint Handling Unit) in the processing of complaints.
-Establish clear policies and procedures for complaint handling within CSG that are compliant with current regulations.
-Ensure complaint and MDR reporting requirements are understood and met
-Support the reporting and follow-up of product recalls
-Remain current on related regulations and guidelines published by FDA and international regulatory authorities
-Research various actions taken by FDA and other regulatory bodies to gain insight into current enforcement practices and the Agency’s rationale for such actions
-Provide interpretations & direction to appropriate company personnel regarding the regulatory requirements relevant to the Product Complaint and Field Support department.
-Initiate changes to practices and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
-Design and provide training on topics related to the compliance of the Product Complaint and Field Support department’s SOPs for all applicable employees.
-Bring regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of senior management
-Support development of Med QM&RA requirements, procedures, and guidance documents.
-Participate in internal compliance inspections and audits, as well as support other Med units during such inspections as requested
-Ensure timely filing of facility registrations and device listings of all designated facilities
-Support as needed the electrical certification of imported products through coordination with the internal testing laboratory, installation personnel and field certification organizations.
-Ensure timely filing of X-ray installation via form 2579 and support related field inquires as necessary.

Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  A Bachelors Degree in engineering or other technical discipline is preferred.
- Knowledge: Must be able to acquire an understanding of the technology, products, and procedures of the supported modalities.  A thorough understanding of related U.S. Regulatory laws to ensure compliance.  Strong written and oral communication skills in order to:
- Facilitate communications with foreign counterparts
- Communicate effectively with FDA and minimize FDA inquires
- Present and dissemination training programs/information to company personnel
- Develop internal documents and procedures to increase overall efficiency and reduce error / cost.
Organizational skills to insure timely management of issues
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience with the management of complaints, MDR and recalls
Travel: Approximately 10 days domestic and 5 days international

Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Requirements:PA
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree (BS or BA), preferably in a technical discipline, life sciences field or related discipline. 

Knowledge:  Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. FDA regulations relating to (510(k)s, PMAs and the review of promotional and labeling materials.  Demonstrated ability to develop an advanced technical knowledge of a company’s products and their clinical application.  Although this position does not require the candidate to personally develop statistical plan, the candidate must be able to understand the statistical plan and communicate with biostatisticians.

Experience:  Minimum of five years experience in regulatory affairs addressing (510(k)s, preIDEs, IDEs, PMAs and PMA Supplements.   Experience in the development of clinical protocols: identification of patient population, clinical end points, study work flow, etc. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of MRMC (Multi-Reader/Multi-Case) studies.

Travel: Position will require domestic and international travel approximately 3 days per month domestically and international travel approximately twice per year (5-10 days).

Graduated from an accredited professional nursing program.  Current licensure with the Board of Nursing Examiners of the State of Texas.  Current healthcare provider CPR and ACLS certifications.

Two years experience at the level of a staff nurse with skills applicable to HVC/CVICU.  Experience in leadership position desirable.

Senior Product Marketing Specialist

The Marketing Manager reports directly to the Director of Marketing in the Customer Relationship Management group of the Ultrasound Division. The Market Manager is responsible for global marketing planning and implementation through an understanding of the assigned market segements and product portfolio segments. This position is specifically responsible for products in the high-end or premium/ultra-premium segment. The Market Manager is responsible for all aspects of marketing to include product pricing and competitive positioning, sales training, collateral development, demo fleet planning and service strategy, etc. The Market Manager has responsibility to develop global product campaigns and revenue - generation strategies and assist with meeting regional strategy customization needs to support both direct sales channels and dealer relationships. Requirements: Minumum 4-6 years experience in marketing and/or sales of medical device. Experience in other types of capital equip industries will be considered however, specific medical industry experience highly desireable. ICU/Nurse Educator Chicago

 Nurse Educator for Intensive Care Unit (Part Time)
 
Hours: Part-Time Exempt; 7 days in a 2 week pay period; Day shift (7am-3:30pm); Will work 4 days one week; 3 days the next. Will consider Full-Time if the Educator wants to work as a Staff Nurse for the additional hours. 

The Educator establishes goals and priorities in accordance with patient and staff needs and organizational objectives. Facilitates and demonstrates quality patient care based on advanced experience and working knowledge of standards of critical care nursing practice. Collaborates the activities with all members of the nursing division and other members of the health care team. Assesses and identifies educational needs; develops, implements and evaluates the orientation program, skill competency validation, and continuing educational programs; and plans, coordinates and presents educational programs to nursing staff to enhance clinical/professional growth. Acts as a liaison and resource to medical staff, nursing staff and unit managers relative to critical care patient care.
 
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, current Illinois RN license, and ACLS are required. MSN and CCRN are strongly preferred. Must have strong, recent critical care skills/experience, as well as effective teaching, communication, and computer skills.
