Responsibilities

Plans, directs, and supervises the laboratory and staff to ensure that patients’ laboratory needs are effectively met.  Establishes, implements, and monitors policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for the provision of services and coordinates with other departments to provide maximum level of services to patients and hospital staff.  Establishes, implements, and monitors short and long term goals for the department which are in line with organizational plans, mission, vision, and values.  Establishes, implements, and monitors staffing adqueqacies and development programs to adjust as needed. Oversees/recommends promotions, demotions, transfers, and succession planning. Delegates assignments and tasks as is required to guarantee accuracy and promptness of patient testing and efficient laboratory operations. Establishes, implements, and monitors annual budget for department. Not only prepares all sections for CAP
