Occupational Therapist/Careers/Openings/Indiana

Reports to the Supervisor of Rehab Services. Responsible and accountable for provision of comprehensive occupational therapy services within the Bloomington Hospital system including patient assessment, reassessment, development and revision of treatment plan, progression of treatment, and discharge planning. Keeps informed of and adheres to local, state and federal regulations affecting the practice of respective disciplines in regards to supervision, treatment, documentation, and reimbursement; adheres to profession?s Code of Ethics. Participates as an active department team member and promotes rehabilitation services in BH and community. Collaborates with the patient/caregiver, referring physician, coworkers, and other health care professionals as needed. Other responsibilities include supervision and appropriate delegation of tasks to support staff and volunteers and provision of education to patients, students, staff, other health care providers, and to the community. Also participates as a mentor to coworkers, students and volunteers.
 

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:
Graduate of an ACOTE-approved occupational therapy curriculum. Initial certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Minimum Experience Requirement:
Physical and mental capabilities to perform professional duties including ability to maneuver within clinic, hospital, patient’s home, or other service environment and to provide for patient safety. CPR new (if not currently certified or trained) Health Care Provider course required. Will provide. Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language. Good organizational skills to complete job duties in a timely manner.

Minimum License Requirement:
Must be a Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Indiana OR have an temporary permit to practice OT in the State of Indiana by the employment start date.  Those operating with a temporary permit have until the expiration of the temporary permit to obtain their permanent OT License.  Will train for Healthcare provider CPR.
