POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Food Service Director and/or the Operations Manager, the Clinical Dietitian provides direct medical nutrition therapy for hospitalized patients.  The Clinical Dietitian also organizes nutritional educational inservices as needed to peers and patients.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
Screens patients’ nutritional state.
Age specific nutritional care.
Recommends a nutritional care plan.
Assesses nutrition status of patients.
Manages nutritional care plans.
Educates external customers, patients, and co-workers as needed.
Integrates data to provide medical nutrition therapy for patients with moderate medical conditions.
Promotes positive nutrition outcomes.
Assists in taking food orders based on patients diet.
Oversees office to ensure nutritional standards, training and inservice are in place.
Assists in matters involving quality assurance (i.e. menu, patient education materials, standards of care, hospital committees, patient satisfaction, rounding and tray assessment
