I. Position Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse is responsible for the management; coordination and delivery of patient care utilizing leadership skills and the nursing process to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Performs other duties as assigned.
II. Essential Functions:
The essential functions of a staff Registered Nurse includes, but is not limited to:
* Uses nursing judgment, critical thinking skills, and interpersonal communication skills in delivery of patient care.
* Uses the nursing process in assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, and evaluating to meet individual patient needs and education of the patient.
* Develops care plan and implements and evaluates appropriate patient care interventions.
* Acts as a patient advocate in meeting physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs.
III. Accountability:
The staff Registered Nurse is accountable to the assigned department Team Leader(s), Clinical Director and Administrator of Nursing. The Registered Nurse performs job duties in a manner that will ensure a physical environment that is free of hazards to self and others. The Registered Nurse supervises and coordinates the delegation and implementation and delivery of patient care by other licensed and non-licensed associates for his/her assigned shift and area. This includes, but is not limited to delegated assignments, monitoring and evaluation of patient care, problem solving, and staff education and training.
