Description
Join the staff of Regional Medical Center, bed acute care hospital, and a recipient of the statewide 2006 Excellence in Patient Safety & Quality Award. The hospital specializes in minimally invasive procedures. Programs include: Cardiac surgery, orthopedics, 24-hour emergency, cancer, and maternity care.
Reporting to the Nursing Director, this position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.
1. Provides appropriate nursing interventions. Competent in all routine nursing skills, including: (1) medication administration, (2) intravenous therapy, (3) management of indwelling catheters and drains, and (4) safe use of any medical equipment, such as glucose meters, IV pumps).
2. Functions in the capacity of Charge Nurse per unit Charge Nurse guidelines, when assigned. Ensures that the operations and nursing care follow Medical Center and department policies and standards. Keeps Manager/Director informed when difficulties and/or unusual situations occur. Provides for allotted meal and break periods for staff.
Qualifications
Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
Current RN license, BSN preferred
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
PALS or ENPC current or within 6 months of hire
CEN preferred
