The Registered Nurse, as a professional practitioner, assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. According to the established standards of nursing practice and standards of care, he/she demonstrates an ability to make clinical judgments in an efficient and effective manner, without supervision, for all ages. He/she demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care and consistently performs according to the standards of the profession. He/she assumes ultimate responsibility and accountability in managing his/her patient care and in assisting others in the management of patient care. The Registered Nurse reports to the Director of Registry and the Director of the assigned unit. He/she may handle human blood and other potentially infectious and/or hazardous materials, which may result in possible exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or harmful elements. This position has the responsibility for the assessment, treatment and care of the patient in the following age groups: pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
Qualifications
Current Florida Registered Nurse License; Advance Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
