Medical Technologist

Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures established criteria to provide clinical information. Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and references ranges for test methods.
Operates, calibrates, checks and maintains instrumentation. Recognizes problems with quality control and test procedures and takes appropriate action to ensure quality clinical information.
Collect and process patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures within the expected time frames.
Serves as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists and other healthcare providers as needed. Participates in continuing education.
Maintains cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory options.

Job Requirements

Bachelors Degree in ASCP eligible program or successfull completion of HEW exam. Must meet ongoing education requirements for certification
Clinical laboratory experience required.
MT(ASCP) or equivalent, or HEW certificate required.
Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgement. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
