Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the COO the Director, Radiology is responsible for directing activities of staff engaged in providing radiology services to ensure quality patient care through use of the most current techniques and proper use of department’s equipment. Duties: Directs the activities of the Radiologty Services to include the managers, supervisors, PACS specialists, technologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and support staff. Interviews, hires, orients and trains staff. Evaluates performance and provides feedback. Makes personnel action recommendations (e.g. promotions, transfers, disciplinary, discharge). Develops, implements radiology policies and procedures, new programs/services, oversees hospital policies and procedures. Prepares and administeres departmental budgets. Evaluates equipment modifications, replacements, construction, planning, coordinating, negotiates service/maintenance contracts. Develops long-term capital equipment plans for department. Demonstrates leadership, initiative, judgement in order to assure efficient daily operation. Monitors and enforces safe performance, safety regulations, cleanliness of department. Monitors quality of department’s performance and customer service through quality assurance monitors, interacts effectively with other departments. Provides necessary documentation of departmental statistics, management reports. Consistently meets deadlines of all requested information, documentation. Liaison between physicians, staff, hospital departments, addresses supervisor, staff, USWA issues. Acts as consultant/resource as requested. Complies with federal, state, local regulatory rules/regulations and JCAHO accreditation. Keeps abreast of new developments in radiology by reviewing current literature and attending relevant meetings/seminars. Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field. Certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. Six to eight progressive management experience in Radiology Services. Extensive knowledge of radiology regulations, services and modalities. Knowledge of human resource policies and procedures. Still in developing and maintaining positive relationships with physicians and other healthcare staff and providers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
