The Director plans, develops, evaluates, and directs the HIM Dept., Lead Transcriptions, Lead Coder, HIM Supervisor and HIM Manager.  Promotes patient, physician and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contact with respect.  Supports and participates in activities that foster customer service.  Communicates and follows the organizational chain of command for notification of general or patient care/service issues, when appropriate.  Maintain required applicable licensure, certification, education annual health screening and other applicable hospital or job specific requirement. 
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Health Record Administration. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).  Masters Degree preferred.  RHIT (Registered Health Information Tech).  Successful completion of the registration or accreditation examination given by the association.  Two (2) years experience as a Supervisor and 5 years experience as the Director of the Medical Records/HIM Department in an acute care hospital, preferred.  With Cancer Registry experience.
