The director of Surgical  Services is responsible for overall planning, direction, and administration including budgeting considerations coordination and supervision of surgical services in the organization. Excellent knowledge in the coordination of the perioperative patient This person implements the vision, mission, philosophy, evidence based practice, and standards in assigned areas. He/She encourages leadership development, policy development, and decision-making among staff. The director is also expected to evaluate quality and appropriateness of healthcare delivery in assigned areas. In addition the director accepts responsibility and accountability for services provided. In addition the director is responsible for assessing and developing  new programs that would enhance patient safety, quality care and family involvement
