As a part of the nursing management team, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating effective and efficient nursing orientation and staff development programs for nursing department; participates in performance appraisals for designated staff; initiates corrective action related to educational or competency deficiencies; provides expert care at the advanced practice level; provides leadership, coordination, and consultation for staff development and inservices with Clinical Education Coordinators; incorporates research into outcome-based nursing practice.
