Under the Direction of the Cath Lab/Cardiology Director, the Cardiology/Special Procedures Nurse will perform multiple duties in the Cardiology & Radiology Departments. These duties include, but are not limited to: coordinating patient care, procedures, and patient instruction in Cardiology, Cath Lab & Radiology, perform ordered 12-Lead EKG exams, Holter monitor application, Exercise Stress Treadmill, Exercise Treadmill Stress Testing, and other Cardiology/Radiology special procedures as assigned. The Cardiology/Special Procedures Nurse must possess knowledge & skills necessary in assisting the Cardiologist/Radiologist in performing procedures as assigned. The Cardiology/Special Procedures Nurse must practice appropriate telephone technique, and be able acquire & transmit information via telephone and/or computer, use effective verbal and written communication skills & maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians. Other duties include assisting the department director in reviewing & implementing department protocols, establishing & monitoring staff competencies, collecting & reporting statistical data, participating in performance improvement projects and staff instructional / in-service modules, and assuring compliance with State, Hospital & Hospital regulations.
