The Clinical Manager performs the clinical role of an RN III. The position assumes a leadership role for daily unit operations. The Clinical Manager assists with staff recruitment and retention, performance evaluations and competencies, orientation and annual education requirements and employee safety. The Clinical Manager maintains staffing levels to ensure budget goals and meet patient needs. The position ensures necessary equipment and supplies are available at all times. The Clinical Manager supports the hospital philosophy and goals. The Clinical Manager complies with regulatory and licensing agencies. The Clinical Manager assures that the department and staff present a positive image to the patients, families, and public. The position develops and implements services to meet patient and physician expectations. The Clinical Manager monitors financial expenditures to meet budget goals. The Clinical Manager is a leader and actively participates in the hospital Performance Improvement (PI) Program and develops and implements performance improvement projects to improve patient outcomes. The Clinical Manager will be responsible for the promotion and marketing the Express Care services to the community.
As the Pre-hospital/Paramedic Liaison Nurse (PLN) He/she would direct and coordinate activities related to the management of pre-hospital emergency care. He/she reviews data from MICN/EMT-P Coronary Observation Radio (COR) communications, acts as a resource person and coordinator among the MICNs/EMT-Ps, ED staff, ED physicians and the Emergency Medical System (EMS) Agency. The PLN assures quality improvement and assurance activities. He/she implements, evaluates and documents plans for improvement.
The Clinical Manager reports to the Director of Emergency Services.
