FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Demonstrates ability to set up and monitor various invasive and non-invasive ventilation support devices; makes adjustments under direction of a physician; and assesses neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and offers suggestions for improving outcomes.
  • Able to prepare equipment and evaluate patient for procedure.  Takes appropriate safety precautions and follows infection control guidelines.  Performs puncture, or arterial line draw according to department protocol.  Reviews results and assists with interpretation when needed.  Offers feedback and recommendations to correct variations from norm as necessary.
  • understands process flow, able to assist and instruct others.
  • Able to administer appropriate therapies according to physician orders and Department standards and protocols this includes MDI’s, NMT’s, CPT, incentive spirometry, bland aerosol, sets up and maintains various monitoring devices.
  • Treats all ages of patient population inclusive of infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric as assigned.
  • Familiar with and follows department policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BCLS required, ACLS preferred PALS certification desirable.
  • Knowledge and familiarity  critical care ventilators as well as the Vision, Quantum and Synchrony non-invasive ventilators are preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Candidates must have 2-5 years of acute care experience, must be RRT, must have TX license , and have ACLS.

  • The Emergency Department Campus Manager has 24-hour responsibility in the management of assigned Hospital Emergency Department(s).  She/He is under the direct supervision of the campus Chief Nursing Officer or Administrator.  He/She is responsible for staffing and management of personnel assigned.  Is responsible for overseeing utilization of all resources, for performance improvement and operations, and for providing a safe environment.  The Campus Manager facilitates interdepartmental and intradepartmental, medical staff, and community relationships and seeks ways to improve the quality of care delivered in the Emergency Department.  Manages and directs to ensure cost and quality and to improve patient satisfaction.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

d. Routinely reviews all films for radiologist and attending physician approval.

e. Demonstrates the ability to solve job related problems, such as alternate patient positioning, different views and the realization of equipment and patient limitations.

f. Tests are always performed in accordance with the department procedure manual.

g. Routinely assists in general radiographic procedures when requested by radiologists or department manager; assists physician in administering radiopaque media.

h. Demonstrates proficiency in use of portable X-Ray equipment in Surgery, Emergency Room, Nursery and at bedside.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Demonstrates ability to set up and monitor various invasive and non-invasive ventilation support devices; makes adjustments under direction of a physician; and assesses neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and offers suggestions for improving outcomes.
  • Able to prepare equipment and evaluate patient for procedure.  Takes appropriate safety precautions and follows infection control guidelines.  Performs puncture, or arterial line draw according to department protocol.  Reviews results and assists with interpretation when needed.  Offers feedback and recommendations to correct variations from norm as necessary.
  • understands process flow, able to assist and instruct others.
  • Able to administer appropriate therapies according to physician orders and Department standards and protocols this includes MDI’s, NMT’s, CPT, incentive spirometry, bland aerosol, sets up and maintains various monitoring devices.
  • Treats all ages of patient population inclusive of infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric as assigned.
  • Familiar with and follows department policies.

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist License

  • BCLS required, ACLS preferred PALS certification desirable.
  • Knowledge and familiarity  critical care ventilators as well as the Vision, Quantum and Synchrony non-invasive ventilators are preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Candidates must have 2-5 years of acute care experience, must be RRT, must have TX license , and have ACLS.

11. Assists with gross evaluation of surgical specimens if requested.

12. Orders all supplies, reagents and equipment necessary for completion of histology and cytology.

13. Compiles all information, reports, slides and blocks necessary for outside referrals, quarterly quality assurance reviews, tumor registry, and research studies in cooperation with outside institutions.

The incumbent must support both the long range strategic and operational goals of the hospitals in which the laboratories reside as well as the Regional Laboratories.
  • Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):
  • Minimum of Bachelors degree in healthcare or related field with additional formal training in medical laboratory sciences desirable as well as finance, economics, purchasing and operations management. MBA considered desirable but not required.
  • MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification (i.e., HEW, AMT, and NCA) desirable.
